The Limi Valley Trek was opened to trekkers in 2002 due to its close proximity to the Tibetan border. The route follows an ancient trading and pilgrimage trail, crossing rugged landscapes and high mountain passes while passing through environmentally sensitive areas that are carefully protected. Because of its remoteness and restricted access, the region receives very few visitors, helping preserve its rich biodiversity, flora, and fauna for future generations.
Considered one of the most isolated and barren regions of Humla, the valley still preserves its centuries-old Tibetan Buddhist culture and traditions. The trek offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and also provides an opportunity to glimpse the sacred Mount Kailash from a distance, adding spiritual significance to the journey.
The Humla Limi Valley Trek is a classic “off the beaten track” adventure in western Nepal.
