Kathmandu Lhasa Kailash Trek

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival time, you may attend a short tour briefing and trip preparation session. You will also submit your original passport for the final Tibet visa process. Overnight at the hotel.

Today is reserved for sightseeing and final trip preparations. You will visit some of Kathmandu Valley’s most sacred cultural and religious landmarks, including Pashupatinath Temple, Guhyeshwari Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Final tour arrangements and briefing will be completed in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer to Kathmandu airport for a scenic Himalayan flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, your Tibetan guide will receive you and transfer you to your hotel in Lhasa. The rest of the day is free for acclimatisation. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, begin a full-day sightseeing tour of Lhasa. Visit the sacred Jokhang Temple, one of Tibet’s most revered spiritual sites. Continue to Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery, two historic monastic universities of Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight at the hotel.

Today you will explore the magnificent Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, visit Norbulingka, the traditional summer palace of the Dalai Lama, followed by a walk around the vibrant Barkhor Street market area. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, begin your scenic drive toward Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. Along the route, enjoy spectacular views of the Tibetan Plateau, Himalayan landscapes, rivers, glaciers, and high mountain passes. Overnight at the hotel.

Today’s shorter drive helps with acclimatization before heading into higher elevations. Pass through picturesque Tibetan villages, barley fields, rivers, and dramatic plateau landscapes on your journey to Lhatse. Overnight at the hotel or guesthouse.

Continue westward into the Ngari region of Tibet. The drive to Saga offers breathtaking views of Tibetan lakes, nomadic settlements, grazing yaks, and expansive Himalayan scenery. Cross the mighty Brahmaputra River before reaching Saga. Overnight at the guesthouse.

Today is one of the most exciting days of the journey as you get your first glimpse of the sacred Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Arrive near Chiu Gompa and enjoy the serene spiritual atmosphere around the holy lake. Overnight at the guesthouse.

Spend the morning exploring the holy surroundings of Lake Mansarovar. Pilgrims may perform rituals, meditation, or holy bathing near the lake. After lunch, drive to Darchen, the starting point of the Kailash Kora (Parikrama). Overnight at the guesthouse.

Drive to the starting point of the Kailash trek known as the Valley of the Gods. Begin the sacred Kailash Parikrama with a gradual trek toward Derapuk, enjoying magnificent views of the north face of Mount Kailash. Horse and porter services are available if pre-arranged. Overnight at the guesthouse.

This is the most challenging yet spiritually rewarding day of the Kailash Kora. Trek steeply uphill to cross the sacred Dolma La Pass at 5,623 meters, the highest point of the journey. Descend carefully and continue trekking to Juthulpuk. Overnight at the guesthouse.

Complete the final section of the Kailash Parikrama with an easy walk back to Darchen. After breakfast, drive back to Saga along the same scenic route. Pilgrims may also collect holy water from Lake Mansarovar on the way. Overnight at the guesthouse.

Drive back to Shigatse while enjoying the beautiful landscapes of western Tibet. Upon arrival, you may explore the city and local markets during your free time. Overnight at the hotel.

Continue your return journey to Lhasa through scenic Tibetan countryside and mountain landscapes. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and prepare for your departure flight the following day. Overnight at the hotel.

Early morning transfer to Gonggar Airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation or personal activities. Overnight at the hotel.

According to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey home, marking the end of your unforgettable Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage tour.
